Talking about hairstyles at large this year, with the welcoming of 2018, the year gave birth to a new hair trend into the world of Instagram: “the opal hair”. It’s a fabulous hair color trend which, is not only fully gracious and makes the volume look gorgeous, but completely wearable in real life also. The hair color is an awesome result of a milky mixture of metallic pink and sherbet orange like a melted creamsicle or a puff of cotton candy which every hair lover wants to eat up. This softer delicate color dominating the fashion insights of 2018 is really worthy of mastering the hairdo trends this year. With an interview with ‘Allure’, the popular hairstylist Mike Lowenstein disclosed his discovery of opal hair, a journey so interesting itself and so lively.
He was the man behind the genesis of soft, opalescent trend with his wife in their Washington-based salon. For this opal hue, he first lightened the hair to platinum blonde, then using a mixture of violet based toners for a fine pastel finish. Since, the color came out so light and sheer, it eventually just fades to blonde, making the whole look easily accessible to maintain, solely because there will eventually be nothing to maintain as such pre-occupied with extra care and extra time to be given after. Its definitely fun to create such a color explosion with help of a professional colorist as one must always keep in mind not to damage the hair growth and quality.
